I have been playing my original F:lagship Blades for a year now and have been truly awed by them (and have spread the word to many letting all who wanted to hit them do so, I almost feel like a Brand Ambassador for F:aktor Golf)...when Joel told me about the his idea about making a set of CB irons I was all in and thanks to Joel I got the first set he got in...Boy-O-Boy they surely didn't dissapoint. Higher Launching long irons than my original F:lagships without sacrificing any distance or stopping power. They are a little bigger than the blades but performance and turf interaction is just as good. For those who may want to combo CB's and Blades they will be a great way to go. Give them a real look and call Joel as he can help you determine how to build your combo set or just go CB's all the way, you won't be dissapointed!
Living in So Cal afforded me the opportunity to visit Joel and discuss all aspects of the CB irons. We talked about the head development, shafts and finally grips. This happened on a Tuesday and I had my irons in hand on Friday. Out of the box the set was beautiful and built exactly as we had discussed. I have had limited opportunity to test out the set but the performance has been exceptional . Center strikes are so pure and the feeling is unlike/better than any iron I have ever hit which includes most major OEM brands and during my 50 years of playing included many forged blades. Miss hits still cover most of the distance but do not feel harsh in the hands and provide the positive feedback required. These irons and the build of the set are exceptional. If you're considering new irons and you don't look into Faktor Golf your are doing yourself a disservice.
I was gifted a 54 degree Falgship that I liked so much that I ordered a 58 and that was all I needed to order a full set. For those of you thinking that they look like blades - they do, especially the Falgships. But they perform like game improvement heads. And if you are concerned about graphite shafts (I have tried graphites in the past and went back to metal, always) - the shafts are incredibly stable. Not sure how he can make these sets at this price, but I am grateful. And I really appreciate Joel making me a combo set - the Flagships PW-8 and CBs 7-4 is an amazing bag. Flagship throw darts into the greens and the CBs add a little more perimeter and sweetspot weighting. Now I need to learn how to consistently 2-putt.
